Knoxville Writers Guild Youth Poetry Workshop

RheaSunshine, an award-winning wordsmith and current Poet Laureate for the City of Knoxville, is a force that weaves passion, purpose, and power into poetry. Rhea maintains that poetry saved her life and she uses the lifeline to create a connection and safe space for those that she inspires with words. She strives to motivate people to scribe their own stories.

Join Rhea for this poetry writing workshop for youth ages 13-19 during National Poetry Month. Students will write poems and be invited to perform their pieces later this spring at an open mic celebration for the 2023 Youth Poet Laureate of Knoxville.
