Join film critic and blogger Farran Smith Nehme to learn about classic and pre-code Hollywood. Lunch provided.

Farran Smith Nehme has written about film and film history for the New York Post, British Film Institute, Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, Village Voice, Criterion, and Film Comment, as well as for her blog, Self-Styled Siren. A film critic and film lover, Nehme "focuses on pre-1960 cinema but isn't high-hat about it." Her novel, Missing Reels, was published in 2014.

Clarence Brown Film Festival

This event is part of the Clarence Brown Film Festival, celebrating the work and legacy of Knoxvillian Clarence Brown (1890–1987). Nominated for eight Oscars, Brown directed the biggest stars of the silver screen including Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, and Elizabeth Taylor. All events are free and open to the public.
