The Library celebrated the grand opening of its first Storybook Trail at West View Park on September 16, 2022 with 200 elementary students from nearby West View Elementary school. As the inaugural trail features the lyrical story, My Voice Is a Trumpet, students were treated to trumpet fanfare, made their own trumpets, and selected a free book courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
The project was made possible by generous support from Governor's Early Literacy Foundation, Friends of the Knox County Public Library, Walmart #1318, Sam’s Clubs #8256, City of Knoxville, #ReadCityUSA and City of Knoxville Commissioners: Roberto, Thomas, Fugate, Testerman, and Parker.
