Event Details
Daytime Docs is a monthly film series featuring documentaries that bring awareness to diverse perspectives and life experiences through the power of visual storytelling.
We’re kicking off the new year with this 2022 documentary about famed Italian author, Umberto Eco (January 5, 1932-February 19, 2016), titled Umberto Eco: A Library of the World. A documentary immersion into all things Eco, Davide Ferrario’s film takes us on a tour of Umberto Eco’s private library, guided by the author himself. As Eco leads us among the more than 50,000 volumes, we also gain insight into the library of the mind of this vastly prolific and original thinker.
Viewers are encouraged to stay after the screening to discuss the film. Then browse our Sights & Sounds collection to take home a few documentaries and films until our next screening! Can't make it? Stream this title, along with thousands of others, for free on Kanopy with a valid library card.
