Event Details

Daytime Docs is a monthly film series featuring documentaries that bring awareness to diverse perspectives and life experiences through the power of visual storytelling.

Beat the heat and relax with this screening of the 2025 documentary, The Badwater 135. In the scorching heat of Death Valley, California, 10 ultramarathon runners from around the world converge to tackle the infamous Badwater 135. Held every July when temperatures reach more than 120°F (48°C), the Badwater 135 ultramarathon goes from the lowest point in North America to the highest point in the contiguous United States: Mount Whitney. Only 100 runners are selected every year. They have 48 hours to cross the finish line. We follow 10 of them in their journey across Death Valley.

Viewers are encouraged to stay after the screening to discuss the film. Then browse our Sights & Sounds collection to take home a few documentaries and films until our next screening! Can't make it? Stream this title, along with thousands of others, for free on Kanopy with a valid library card.
