Knox County Public Library will host its first college fair organized by teens on Thursday, March 2, 2023, 3:30–5:30 at the Powell Branch Library.
The high schoolers on the Teen Advisory Board decided early on in the group's formation that they wanted to organize a college fair. Consisting of students from across the county, including several homeschoolers, this intrepid group of students selected schools from within a three-hour radius of Knoxville. Staff member Nicole Barajas provided contact information for college admissions counselors and worked with students to draft invitations. Each student selected a college or university, sent an invitation and acted as a point of contact. They are looking forward to meeting other students and admissions counselors and learning about their post-secondary education options.
