Display and distribution of unsolicited materials

As part of its information mission, the Knox County Public Library System accepts unsolicited materials for posting and/or distribution subject to the following guidelines.

Bring materials to be posted or distributed to the main circulation desk of the respective library, where staff will date and place the material if room allows. Materials placed in a library by individuals or groups not observing this procedure will be discarded.

Items for posting are accepted on a first-come, space-available basis and will be posted for 14 days only. If space is not available, the Library will not hold materials for later posting.

Multiple copies of materials for distribution from designated stands or tables are accepted on a first-come, space-available basis. No more than 30 copies may be placed at any given location. The Library will place materials for 14 days and then discard any that remain. If space is not available, the Library will not hold materials for later distribution. Most branch libraries do not have space for distribution of unsolicited material.

For system-wide distribution, deliver materials to the Administrative Services Office at Lawson McGhee Library; the materials will be counted and sent. If a location has space available, it will be placed; if no space is available, the material will be discarded.
