Velociraptor

Velaciraptor

Velociraptor was a small but fierce carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, about 75–71 million years ago. It belonged to the dromaeosaurid family, known for their agility and hunting skills. Velociraptor measured about 6.5 feet (2 meters) long, stood roughly 1.6 feet (0.5 meters) tall at the hip, and weighed around 30 pounds (14 kg). Despite its modest size, it was a swift predator with sharp teeth and a sickle-shaped claw on each foot, which it used to slash prey.

Unlike its Hollywood portrayal in Jurassic Park, Velociraptor was feathered and likely resembled a large bird more than a scaly reptile. Fossils have been found in Mongolia, and evidence suggests it hunted in packs or at least cooperated occasionally.
