Program Description

Event Details

Daytime Docs is a monthly film series featuring documentaries that bring awareness to diverse perspectives and life experiences through the power of visual storytelling.

In honor of Autism Awareness Month, we will view Life, Animated (2016), which features the story of Owen Suskind, an autistic boy who couldn’t speak for years. His family learned to reach Owen by becoming animated characters—communicating in Disney dialogue and song. This film reveals how we all need stories to help us navigate our lives.

Viewers are encouraged to stay after the screening to discuss the film. Then browse our Sights & Sounds collection to take home a few documentaries and films until our next screening!
