Program Description

Event Details

Daytime Docs is a monthly film series featuring documentaries that bring awareness to diverse perspectives and life experiences through the power of visual storytelling.

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins September 15, we will screen Rita Moreno: Just a Girl Who Decided to Go for It (2021). Over a 70+ year career, Rita Moreno defied both her humble upbringing and relentless racism to become one of the rare EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) Award Winners of our time. Her resilience and talent triumphed over adversity and broke barriers for generations of artists who refuse to be pigeonholed.

Viewers are encouraged to stay after the screening to discuss the film. Then browse our Sights & Sounds collection to take home a few documentaries and films until our next screening!

Screenings will take place on every third Sunday of the month in the downstairs meeting room.
