Compete in the Water Olympics in honor of the 2026 Winter Olympics to investigate water's different properties!

LEGO Club gives participants (children and teens) an opportunity to make interesting creations with Legos and have their designs displayed to the public at Powell Library.

Ages 5-11.

Library will provide tools, materials, and instructions for people to bedazzle their own personal copies of books of their choosing.

This program is for intermediate and advanced stitchers to work together on larger on-going projects. Participants are encouraged to bring their own work. We encourage you to register by calling the branch.

Crafternoons is an arts and crafts program for children.  Crafts can be done onsite or taken home.  This program is a safe place for kids to gather, work on social and motor skills and just have fun.

Middle School Crafternoon-where tweens craft, chat, and chill. Refreshments will be served.

Come discuss your favorite things about the Dog Man Series and create similar characters to the books.

Come one, come all! Bring the whole family for an evening filled with games. We’ve got something for everyone including a selection of tabletop board games and card games. This event is perfect for players of all ages.

This will be a special storytime featuring bilingual stories, songs and activities in English and Spanish. We'll have a special presenter from Centro Hispano de East Tennessee join Miss Laura. 

Bring your own book and create a custom book cover with brown paper. We will provide art supplies to decorate your new cover, including markers and colorful duct tape. 

Come have a cozy afternoon of tea and tabletop gaming. Bring your friends and make new friends. Games and refreshments provided by the library. 

Curiosity Club provides a new theme every month designed to challenge and grow children's imaginations. Designed for ages 5-11.

The Three R's-reduce, reuse, & recycle

Bring your paper crafts and play! This relaxed monthly meetup offers table space, tools, and good company—no lessons, just time to cut, glue, fold, and make. Feel free to bring a snack and drink to enjoy while you craft.  Age 14 and up.

Use your imagination to make a story panel bookmark keepsake. Ages 6+.

Join us for Brush Hour, the no skills required art class for teens and adults. Thirteen and under must receive instructor permission. Please call the branch for any questions.

The library is more than a collection of books—it’s a place where everyone can learn, play and create! Teens and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their caregivers are invited to join library staff for an hour

Go beyond LEGO and learn to build with different materials. 

Enjoy a LEGO club meant for smaller hands. Mega Bloks creations must remain at the library.
