Farran Smith Nehme

Farran Smith has written about film and film history for the New York Post, British Film Institute, Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, Village Voice, Criterion, and Film Comment, as well as for her blog, Self-Styled Siren. A film critic and film lover, Nehme “focuses on pre-1960 cinema but isn’t high-hat about it.” Her novel, Missing Reels, was published in 2014.

We are excited to have her join us at the Clarence Brown Film Festival. She will talk about pre-code and classic Hollywood on Thursday, August 17 at noon at the East Tennessee History Center.
