Feel pretentious when you display this vintage green vase from Pretentious Glass Company, a glassblowing studio in the heart of downtown Knoxville. Featuring the work of glass artist Matthew Cummings, Pretentious Glass uses techniques that haven’t really changed in several hundred years. Molten glass is collected on a hollow blowpipe, then shaped with the use of wet newspaper pads or wooden tools. Each piece is entirely one-of-a-kind.
